Ever since 2001 when President Bush took office, the oil industry has been making the largest profits ever, and Americans have been forced to pay more at the pump. In 2000, oil prices per barrel were around 23 dollars a barrel. These days they are well upwards of 70 dollars and there’s talk of 100 […]

Just a quick update on the situation I shared about yesterday. First he tried to disprove Al Gore’s global warming film with two sources paid by ExxonMobil, to specifically spread doubt about global warming.
Now (after I revealed his earlier sources as what they really were– oil industry shill), the same user is now telling me […]

So, have you guys heard about this new documentary yet? It’s called Who Killed the Electric Car? and it’s about how clean, safe and fast electric cars which were available in the mid-1990s were essentially “killed” after a massive lobbying effort from the oil industry. It’ll go into a limited release this summer. Trailer […]

Reuters is reporting that the Republican-dominated House of Representatives voted late yesterday to allow oil drilling in the Alaskan refuge known as ANWR. Naturally it doesn’t have a chance in the Senate, but this vote serves as another reason why Richard Pombo (one of the absolute worst enemies of the environment in Congress today), who […]

Evidently the vast majority of big oil lobbyist money goes to Republicans. Hardly a surprise. This has always been the case, even when Republicans are in the minority in Congress. The Center for Responsive Politics has found that one Texas Republican has recieved more than $159,611 from big oil. Well, what do you expect from […]

According to GasPriceWatch.com the average price of gas in the United States is $2.88/gallon. While in the Boston area for the weekend, I’ve noticed gas prices are signifigantly higher (the above photo I snapped from the car seems about average). What are gas prices like where you are?
