Fact: College Republicans are almost always idiots. Two cases in point for you:
1. Earlier this year, I discovered a video of a group of College Republicans harassing a Democratic campaign volunteer by following him around at a campaign event and sticking Republican campaign stickers on his body. The Republican candidate at the event was only […]

Note the source of the video, at the bottom right corner. Geez, everybody wants to be Martha Stewart these days. Even the Washington Post.

Apparently some 7-year-old in Texas called 911 all of 49 times in a matter of hours from an elementary school. Apparently dispatchers were stumped by the incessant hotline-flooding (probably akin to the way that Republican operatives illegally jammed firefighter’s get-out-the-vote hotlines in my home state of New Hampshire in 2002), because of the following unusual […]

Every year for a long-ass time, the President has a pre-Thanksgiving event, where they “pardon” the turkey present. It’s a feel-good event, really no substance. Let us review great moments in Presidential turkey-pardoning.
Truman
Eisenhower
Kennedy
Johnson
Nixon
Ford
(No photos exist of Carter performing the thanskgiving pardon.)
Reagan
Bush Sr
Clinton
President Bush and the turkey in 2001. Clearly off to a good start. […]

Our President sure is living it up in Vietnam (of all places).
Mr. Bush emerged from his hotel for only one nonofficial event, a 15-minute visit to the Joint P.O.W./M.I.A. Accounting Command, which searches for the remains of the 1,800 Americans still listed as missing in the Vietnam War.

Oregon moves to outlaw hunting Dick-Cheney style. You know, the kind of hunting where you put a bunch of animals that wouldn’t natively be there in a big fenced in area and then chase them to the corner and shoot them.
(Shooting elderly people after drinking is still illegal there too).

Oh man, get this. Apparently CNN’s Larry King has never been to CNN.com Why? Because he hasn’t ever been on the internet. He was interviewing Rosanne Barr about her blog, and the following exchange took place:
KING: The Internet as a political medium: viable?
[…]
BARR: Oh, my God! It just opens up the whole universe. It’s so […]

Okay, who sends letters with mysterious white powders to celebrities and includes death threats?
I mean, if it was really anthrax or some dangerous substance, then you wouldn’t have to include the death threat, right? I mean, they’d already be dead and all… So is it safe to say that if you receive an envelope full […]

Associated Press breathlessly reports:
CRAWFORD, Texas - It’s bling again for Laura Bush’s birthday.
For the second year in a row,
President Bush gave his wife jewelry for her birthday.
This year, it’s a triple-strand necklace with amber-colored citrine, a November birthstone.

This is too funny. As I mentioned recently, I now have access to LexisNexis. So I’ve been playing around with it, because it’s a tremendously amazing tool. But guess what? They actually archive Wonkette entries! Can you believe that? The most powerful academic research service on the internet, usually used by professors, researchers and reporters– […]

In the upper left corner: “LOOK AT THESE GLORIOUS PICTURES AND REMEMBER THE WORLD’S NOT ALL BAD…” The link is to a gallery of six pictures of fall foliage and one of a deer. Ladies and gentlemen, I think Matt Drudge had finally lost it.

Mark Foley is pretty much the greatest actor ever. Check out this video clip of a cameo he did in some low budget film called “Strike Force” in 2003. Update: Apparently this film has also gone under the title “The Librarians.” Wow.

USA Today Science Snapshot:
Insect fossils are semi-rarities for fossil scholars, for a simple reason. Bugs lack bones. Most insect fossils are actually remains trapped in amber, which is fossilized tree sap. A good example is the freshly-reported fossil bee found inside an amber mine in northern Myanmar. Reported in the current Science magazine, the amber […]
