Republican Double-standards

Okay, you already know how I feel about Rep William Jefferson (D-La, almost certainly corrupt), and you know that I don’t hold back on expressing these feelings (he’s a son of a bitch). But I don’t hold any illusions as to not pre-judging him; due to the overwhelming and consistent evidence that has been leaked […]

The Hill reports:

In the past year and a half, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reassigned nearly 200 agents to the problem of public corruption, bringing to 600 the total number of agents working on public-integrity cases.

Tom Delay’s legal defense fund mistakenly praises Stephen Colbert

Well this is pretty ironic and funny. Apparently Tom DeLay’s legal defense fund doesn’t quite understand things like sarcasm and spoof. Evidently, they think that he’s a real, serious, conservative anchor, and supports Tom DeLay. ThinkProgress has noticed that DeLay’s legal defense fund website actually features a video from the Colbert Report, in which Colbert […]

Tommy sure has spent a lot of money on lawyers lately

Roll Call on Tom DeLay’s legal fees:

Rep. Tom DeLay’s (R-Texas) legal defense fund burned through $312,000 in expenses in the first quarter of the year, paying out fees to four different law firms representing the former House Majority Leader on two different legal fronts.
When combined with the $110,000 DeLay paid out of his campaign committee […]

Look who thinks Tom DeLay is guilty…

Apparently, Tom DeLay’s lobbyists think he’s probably guilty (hell, they’d know better than us, right?), and are pissed off about how Tommy’s going to use their bribe money for his legal defense fund. Come to think about it, it makes a lot of sense that DeLay quit after the primary. He was able to gather […]

What will Tom DeLay do after he retires?

“He’s going to help the orphans” garbage aside, Muckraked lays out the odds on what Tom Delay will be doing after he retires this spring. I think I’d laugh the hardest if he does the first thing on their list. Got any expectations of your own?

Tom DeLay caught on camera

Hardly a talking-point:
“There’s nothing worse than a woman know-it-all“
That was Tom DeLay talking to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Monday night, in between commercial breaks during the episode. Little did Tommy know, the cameras were still rolling. Somebody on the MSNBC staff snuck the video out to Huffington Post, and you can watch Tommy’s thoughts on […]

What’s the best way to end this day?

Hammer gets nailed
Blames his fate on biased pols
Takes one to know one?
How better to end this day than by reading some Tom DeLay Haikus? More here.
Or perhaps a look at how much Katherine Harris’ campaign has melted so far? Apparently she’s

Multiple New Reports: Tom DeLay in Serious Legal Trouble

Filed at 6:30 pm, Tuesday April 04th 2006
by Arlen Parsa

The day after Tom DeLay announced that he will be stepping down, two reports came out that both suggest the same thing: Tom DeLay is in legal trouble, heading into a high-profile corruption-related money-laundering case (a felony which can net several years under Texas state law). From the recently-sold large newspaper syndicate Knight Ridder comes […]

“Geraldo At Large” reports on Tom DeLay.

AHAHHHAAHAHAH.

“Tom Delay was to me, the epitome of the ruthless opportunist.”

Geraldo is “reporting” on Tom DeLay’s announcement. He just called him the “Dark Lord” of Congress. “And now [dramatic pause], he is… gone” Hahahaha. Wow. I can’t believe this made it into Geraldo at large. Gee, it must be reallllly big news if Geraldo […]

*** DeLay is in Pieces

Yesterday, I mused about DeLay’s decision to send a pre-taped video out to news outlets, instead of doing what was expected of him (and earlier reported that he would do); a live press conference:

A videotaped speech will be handed to news outlets tomorrow morning, DeLay’s people are producing it and duplicating it right now. This […]

Right-Wing Reaction to DeLay’s Announcement

Ahahahhahaha. Okay. In response to Tom DeLay’s announcement that he will step down from the House of Representatives around late May, and not be seeking re-election, right-wingers have no idea how to respond. The President himself said he believes DeLay is innoncent and will be cleared on all charges. From the comments section of the […]

Tommy DeLay: Against it, before he was for it

In 1995, Tom DeLay didn’t think that it was appropriate for accused felons to carry concealed handguns.
Now that he’s an accused felon, he thinks he should be allowed to carry a concealed handgun.
Wow. I like the 1995 Tom DeLay better.

BREAKING: DELAY NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION

In a move that may mean Tom DeLay is on shakey legal ground, he has officially announced spread rumors that he is withdrawing from his race for re-election this year. Check this thread for more details as they arise. There will be an official announcement early Tuesday.
