In the last 27 days, the Huffington Post has run 26 articles about Michelle Obama’s clothing

Whenever I’m on the go and stop at a public computer terminal, I will inevitably check four news websites in addition to my email. Those four are, roughly in order: the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Drudge Report (though Matt doesn’t rule my world), and the Huffington Post. There’s a reason I go to each, and I like reading them for different reasons.
But I have to say, the liberal-leaning Huffington Post, as much as I may enjoy it for many reasons, has been doing an awful job covering Michelle Obama. The level of their coverage of the First Lady is just as shallow if not more shallow than that of the cable news channels which Jon Stewart skewers night after night without fail.
If I had nickle for every time that the HuffPo posted a front page story about what she’s wearing today, I could have bailed out Bank of America by now. Please, can we focus on important things– heck they can be substantive things that the first lady is doing, rather than this asinine fluff? For a progressive news outlet, the Huffington Post is being awfully un-progressive with its celebrity-esque coverage of Michelle.
