I don’t have a video, but this morning on the Today Show on NBC, whatever ‘expert’ Matt Lauer was interviewing said that the American captain held hostage by Somalian pirates is a “major test” for president Obama. What?! How is a routine hostage situation that came out of a bungled robbery a major test at all? That’s just silly.
Even sillier: Obama was asked about the pirate situation at an event related to foreclosures this week. To his great credit, he answered the reporter who was trying to distract him something to the effect of “guys, we’re talking about housing here. Come on.”
Even worse than the Today Show comments, were those made by the FOX anchors whom acted as though this was an especially vulgar personal insult to all Americans, when the pirate problem is affecting several countries and that entire shipping channel.
