So, after six ballots, the RNC finally chose its next leader: Michael Steele, the party’s first African American Chairman. Who is Michael Steele? The short answer is, a nightmare for a party which ought to be trying to portray itself as more moderate in light of recent Democratic gains.

Besides being a miserable failure as a 2006 Senatorial candidate, Michael Steele has compared scientists conducting stem cell research to Nazis perpetrating the Holocaust. Oh, and he’s also known for his grossly misleading campaign ads.
