Welcome the change:

In the 22 days since winning the White House, President-elect Barack Obama has taken 22 questions from reporters and has done two sit-down television interviews.
The Democrat held his fourth press conference since Nov. 4 in Chicago Wednesday morning — his third in as many days — an unprecedented bit of access for reporters […]

Obama campaign bombarded with calls about Clinton

Filed at 6:17 pm, Friday November 21st 2008
by Arlen Parsa

A source within the Obama campaign headquarters here in Chicago tells me they were swamped with calls today regarding Obama’s reported tap of former rival Hillary Clinton for the office of Secretary of State.
Most callers were not happy about Obama’s apparent choice, I’m told.

Senate update

With Ted “series of tubes” Stevens loss in Alaska, Democrats will have at least 58 seats in the Senate come January.
Up in Minnesota, the state-required recount process is continuing, with over 80% of the votes left to be counted or recounted, and already Norm Coleman’s margin of lead is shrinking. The margin is now down […]

Somebody just sent a private message to my YouTube account accusing me of being either a moron or a government agent.
I get a kick out of that.

Obama to step down from the Senate on Sunday; Who will fill his seat?

Filed at 5:59 pm, Thursday November 13th 2008
by Arlen Parsa

Word just got around that President-elect Obama has opted to resign his Senate seat this Sunday, November 16th. Although this isn’t a controversial thing at all and nobody will complain or laud him for it, it does put pressure for Illinois’ immensely unpopular governor Rod Blagojevich (D) to choose a successor to fill out the […]

Newspaper trade publication Editor & Publisher on November 5th paper sales:

Many of us who have been reporting for years on the declining demand for the daily miracle — in newsprint anyway — were both pleased and a bit perplexed to see Wednesday’s mad rush for Barack Obama editions.

Wall-E

I just saw Disney/Pixar’s Wall-E for the first time tonight. If you haven’t seen it, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. It’s one environmentally-minded movie that might end up being more important than An Inconvenient Truth in the long run.

As promised yesterday, though very blurry.

The crowd begins to gather along Wabash behind the Hilton Chicago.

Another small crowd begins to form along East 8th street.

The media was camped out on the north-western corner of Wabash and East 8th.

Biden’s motorcade takes off south down Wabash. Biden was in a white car, but I’m not sure if […]
