The other day, I posted a chart I made of Sarah Palin’s declining favorability ratings and increasing unfavorability ratings. Here’s a similar updated chart from Daily Kos.

More:

Mr. Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. had made an urgent and unusual evening visit to Capitol Hill, and they were gathered around a conference table in the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“When you listened to him describe it you gulped,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York.
As Senator […]

by Arlen Parsa

I spent this afternoon and night putting this video together.
A few of the key lies featured in the video:
– That Barack Obama wants to “surrender” to al Qaeda (he doesn’t)
– That Sarah Palin opposed the bridge to nowhere (she didn’t)
– That Sarah Palin is the most educated person on energy in the USA (she isn’t)
– […]

Only a handful of national polling organizations have done polling after the convention bounces subsided, but here they are:
Quinnipiac before the conventions (around 8/12): Obama 47, McCain 42
Quinnipiac after the conventions (around 9/18): Obama 49, McCain 45
Quinnipiac net change: McCain +1%
CBS before the conventions (around 8/20): Obama 45, McCain 42

More from the person who John McCain claims “knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America”:

Palin says Alaska supplies 20 percent of U.S. energy. Not true. Not even close.
[…]
Alaska did produce 14 percent of all the oil from U.S. wells last year, but that’s a far cry from all […]

This is just too funny to be made up:

The Republican party is holding a rally for minorities.
The Republican party is holding a rally for minorities… in Virginia.
The Republican party is holding a rally for minorities in Virginia… hosted by George “Macaca” Allen.

Let’s not forget that plenty of Democrats got us into this mess too

I did a man-on-the-street interview with a couple of journalism students today.
The topic they were asking questions about was the election, and they asked generally about whether I was registered to vote, who I would be voting for, why, and so forth. The conversation got a bit off-topic when I was answering one of their […]

Reassuring words

A few reassuring and historically correct words from Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Meet The Press yesterday:

“I’m not quite sure that your average voter, the primary voters pay a lot of attention to the primaries. It’s just at the conventions people tune in. Both parties had very good conventions. I think it evened […]

Flash: Obama strikes new fundraising record, hauls in $66M in August

The numbers:
Total raised in August:
McCain: $47M (best ever for campaign; previous record was $26M)
Obama: $66M (best ever in history; previous record was $55M earlier this year)
McCain’s fundraising is boosted by outside groups and the RNC’s slushfund, an advantage Obama does not have, which makes his fundraising all the more impressive.
Obama’s campaign also added 500,000 brand […]
