Bush in 2001 on Putin (said with Putin standing right next to him):
I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.
Bush in 2008 on Medvedev (with Medvedev sitting right next to him):
I found him to be a smart guy who understood the issues very well.”
Well, just so long as he’s a clever fella, then I suppose that’s all right…
