Apparently Obama’s candidacy is now popular enough that car dealerships are dying to be associated with it…
I’d say we’ll wait to see if any McCain impersonators show up in non-campaign related ads, but I’m not holding my breath.

As expected, Obama has opted out of the public financing system. Watch the video in which he announced this here.
Naturally, McCain will continue to claim that Obama once “pledged” to use public financing and that he’s being a hypocrite. But at the same time, Obama (while noting that he has thus far run the most […]

Huckabee talks the talk:
“Republicans will make a fundamental if not fatal mistake if they seek to win the election by demonizing Barack Obama,” Huckabee told reporters in Tokyo, according to a report by Agence France-Presse.
Huckabee praised the country for getting “to a point where we did not see his color but we truly saw his […]

Cool:
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Serenaded by a gay men’s chorus, showered with rose petals and toasted with champagne, hundreds of tearful same-sex couples got married across the state Tuesday in what some are calling California’s new Summer of Love.

Ugh. What a lousy interviewer Campbell Brown apparently is. She had Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken on for five minutes last night and did not ask him one serious question about a single issue of importance– everything she asked was a puff question related to the fact that he used to be comedian.

I just got back from seeing M. Night Shyamalan’s excellent new film The Happening, which turned out to be A) oddly political and B) very scary. It’s probably best described as an environmental thriller.
The movie seems loosely based on the Al Gore quote, “Is it possible that we should prepare for other serious threats in […]

Sorry for the seemingly wall-to-wall Russert coverage here.
There’s a lot of discussion on who should replace Tim on Meet The Press:
Tyndall said that if he were NBC News President Steve Capus, a short list for the position would include White House correspondent David Gregory, chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell — both of whom have […]

I’m absolutely shocked, stunned and saddened to hear the news that NBC’s Tim Russert collapsed of an apparent heart attack today while at the studio recording some voice over for this Sunday’s episode of Meet The Press.
Obviously this is a very, very sad occasion and I’m afraid I have little more to say than that. […]
