Here’s something that’s a little disturbing if you thought that it was only Republicans who bought the smear that Obama is a Muslim. According to a recent Pew poll, 10% of Americans are under that incorrect impression.

Here’s what the breakdown is: 14% of Republicans believe the myth, compared with 10% of Democrats and 8% of independents.

But here’s what’s disturbing. Out of those Democrats who hold a negative view of Obama (i.e. Clinton supporters), 23% of White Democrats think he’s a Muslim. That’s a far higher percentage among Clinton supporters than the public at large.
