Um, what did Senator Clinton mean when she said this, referring to Barack Obama?
“I started criticizing the war in Iraq before he did.”
Go ahead and read the full quote with context. It still doesn’t make any sense to me– it’s almost as though she is claiming that because Obama was a state Senator instead of a US Senator when the Iraq war started, that his before-it-began opposition to the war didn’t count.
Flasback… In 2007, President Clinton falsely claimed he opposed the Iraq war from Day 1:
“I approved of Afghanistan and opposed Iraq from the beginning…”
