Hillary Clinton, respecting the democratic (and big-D Democratic) process:

Sen. Hillary Clinton made a blunt appeal to North Dakota [pledged] delegates to switch their support to her, despite the fact that Sen. Barack Obama handily defeated her in the state’s caucus in February.
[…]
Clinton made it clear to North Dakota Democrats last night that she believes there is no such thing as a pledged delegate and highlighted that stubborn streak in her appeal for delegates to switch from Obama to her when the Democratic national party holds its nominating convention this August.

“I am here tonight because I am seeking your support,” Clinton said, adding that she never gives up.

Unscrupulous to the Nth degree. This is what desperation looks like and it’s not pretty.

Earlier:

I love how Clinton is constantly going on and on about how people in Michigan and Florida are being “disenfranchised” because their pledged delegates won’t count at the convention yet she undermines the whole concept of pledged delegates by saying that they shouldn’t be tied to the popular vote.

(Although it is technically true that pledged delegates aren’t held by party rules to vote for the candidate who got the most votes in their Congressional District, it has only happened a few times in history that they have voted for somebody else. When that happens– and it hasn’t happened in decades– they are generally regarded as dishonorable traitors who subvert democracy. I am blanking on the name of what traitor delegates are called but there’s actually a term for them and you could count the number of times it’s happened on one hand…).
