Despite growing doubt, Clinton’s campaign suggests Feb 5th will decide race

Analysts, pundits and bloggers alike are increasingly expressing confidence that Super Tuesday, February 5th, will not decide the outcome of the Democratic nomination.
As DailyKos frontpager DHinMI said Friday, “There’s no way anyone effectively puts away the nomination on Super Tuesday.”
Still, Hillary Clinton’s campaign seems to be pushing the line that 2/5 will decide the outcome of the entire race. In an email to supporters Saturday, Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle asked “Will you help us during this critical final weekend?”
Clinton’s campaign may be setting their supporters up for disappointment if February 5th does not turn out to be “final” in the race for the Democratic nomination.
With Obama rapidly gaining on Clinton nationally, and several of the 22 February 5th states competitive for him, it is highly unlikely that he would drop out so soon, especially with many of the later February contests looking favorable for him.
Obama recently raised a record $32 million in the month of January alone, and his campaign is said to be preparing to compete well into March if needed.
Chris Bowers of Open Left wrote yesterday, “with half of the Super Tuesday states now either “toss-ups” or favorable to Obama, the odds of Obama being knocked on Super Tuesday have declined dramatically.”
