ABC News joins Facebook in digital polling collaboration

Facebook, which has just partnered with ABC News for some political ventures, has added a newly revamped US Politics application to their offerings. One of the interesting things that they’ve added are side-by-side-comparisons of ABC News polling, and polling on Facebook, in terms of which candidates people have indicated that they support through the US Politics app. Here are the results of their Democratic and Republican primary match-ups, compared with the latest ABC/Wash Post poll:

There’s more polling and voting on single issues available here if you have a Facebook account. No, I have no idea who Raymond Mckinny is or why Alan Keyes is not included in this poll (maybe because he doesn’t have a Facebook account? Just a hunch).
The answers in this poll are pretty interesting, I think. It’ll be more interesting to see how this changes over time, and whether some candidates trend up or trend down. Although Facebook is now open to users of all ages, since it began as a place for college students to socially network (and the majority of its users are still college students), will it be a good indicator of how that particular demographic will vote?
