Senate holds another quickie session to frustrate Bush
WASHINGTON (CNN) — With the nation’s attention focused on Thanksgiving leftovers and bargain shopping, the Senate held another brief but significant session on Friday as part of a continuing effort to prevent President Bush from making unconfirmed “recess†appointments.
Wow, that’s got to be one of the worst headlines I’ve read in quite a while. Senate holds another quickie session to frustrate Bush? How about to protect Americans from recess appointments for nominees that would never pass the Senate, like James Holsinger for Surgeon General, who thinks that homosexuality is a disease? Or is it just to “frustrate” the president?
