Given his advocation of illegal torture, unconstitutional spying, and the fact that he helped to lie us into war, some might wonder how Dick Cheney sleeps at night.
Actually, the Vice President apparently has no trouble sleeping at night– or at any other time of day for that matter.
Several photographers have caught the Veep dozing off at various public functions ranging from receptions of foreign heads of state to emergency briefings on the major natural disasters, such as 2007’s deadly California wildfires. Without further ado, I’ll let the photographic record speak for itself…
Cheney “stifles a yawn” shortly before giving a speech about American prosperity and giving an award to a hospital in April 2006.
Cheney “reads his notes” during a video conference with officials in Iraq in July 2007.
In April 2006, Cheney was caught nodding off Chinese President Hu Jintao’s first visit to the White House. A spokesperson for Cheney later claimed he was merely “reading his notes” without his reading glasses on.
Cheney appears to fall asleep off during a meeting with Republican leadership in June 2007.
Cheney was also caught dozing at a meeting regarding the situation in Iraq in May 2006.

Yes, the world is surely better off while he sleeps, but you see, these petty meetings about Iraq all the time…how boring, boring, boring! Now, if you want to see him interacting and excited, you would need to see him at one of the planning meetings where contracts are handed out to his friends so that they can increase their war profiteering. That is where his true passion is. It’s in his back pocket where it has always been. It’s a sad comment on the state of affairs in the United States these days. We have traitors and war criminals in the highest offices in the country.
Given his heart condition, falling asleep all the time like this is a bad sign. For him, not the nation.
