So apparently one of the FEMA’s top PR people who orchestrated and participated in the phony briefing last Tuesday was (coincidentally) up for a promotion to become the DNI’s spokesman. Apparently nobody thought that the minor issue of perpetrating a fraud on the media and the public was important enough to re-examine whether or not FEMA’s Pat Philbin ought to be promoted to a higher-level press relations job within the Administration.
At least, that’s what we thought until now. The DNI has now apparently had second thoughts the promotion plan and is scrapping his promotion. It’s unclear whether Philbin will still have a job within the Administration though, as he could just return to his old FEMA post.
