Mitt Romney has once again conflated Democratic rival Barack Obama with terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden while on the campaign trail. Romney’s “mistake” came on Tuesday while he was speaking before Republican primary voters in South Carolina. A video of his comments can be found above, and the following is a transcript:

“Actually, just look at what Osam — Barack Obama — said just yesterday. Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq. That is the battlefield. That’s the central place he says, ‘come join us under one banner.’

Romney has conflated Obama with Osama before. In late July, he was caught gleefully posing with a Repubican voter and a sign that suggested Americans should say “no” to Obama and the terrorist.

Obama was asked today by a voter in New Hampshire if he could think of any differences between himself and bin Laden to help voters keep the two straight. He responded, “Mitt Romney’s been very confused about this… I have a lot of trouble growing a beard. I don’t have a lot of facial hair, that’s a good place to start. He lives in a cave.”
