Rudy does a 180 on gay equality… How will he explain it?

As we all know Rudy Giuliani has been explaining away his flip flopping away invoking 9/11. For example, according to him, 9/11 changed his view that the NRA was an “extremist” organization.

Yeah well, here’s his old stance on a gay marriage ban:

Rudy Giuliani came out yesterday against President Bush’s call for a ban on gay marriage.

The former mayor, who Vice President Cheney joked the other night is after his job, vigorously defended the President on his post-9/11 leadership but made clear he disagrees with Bush’s proposal to rewrite the Constitution to outlaw gays and lesbians from tying the knot.

And here’s his new stance on a gay marriage ban:

Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, told The Hill Saturday that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) would support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

Unfortunately for Rudy, he can’t claim 9/11 made him somehow change his mind on gay equality, since his old stance is only from two years ago in 2004. How will he explain why he changed his mind though?

  1. […] Oh well, at least posting a YouTube video anybody can see is better than meeting with constituency group leaders in secret and giving them private assurances that you support their agenda (cough cough, Rudy Giuliani on gay marriage bans). […]
