Fred Thompson: The man who knew too little

Ugh. In recent weeks, Fred Thompson has confessed his ignorance about several subjects. Oil drilling in Florida, whether or not he lobbied for a pro-choice group, the difference between Cuban immigrants and al Qaeda, whether or not state parties should be punished for leap-frogging and messing up the primary calendar, gay marriage bans, and even his own position on the Terry Shaivo drama.

The latest hot-button issue Fred doesn’t know anything about? The Jena Six:

Asked about the Jena Six case today on his way into a San Antonio fundraiser, Thompson said, “I don’t know anything about it.”

And why should he know anything about it or have an opinion on it? He’s a White guy who doesn’t make any pretenses about wanting to get anything other than the White vote. He’s refused to even show up at any non-White debates so far (such as the Hispanic centered debates or the African-American centered debates or the NAACP forum).
