Fish & Chips, 8/29

You know it’s August when the AP sends out a story titled “Foot-Tapping Ritual Common in Sex Sting” to all 7,000 of its customers.

More Craig’s list

# Republicans who have called for Sen Larry Craig (R-Idaho) to resign: Sen John McCain (Arizona), Sen Norm Coleman (Minnesota), Rep Pete Hoekstra (Michigan), Rep Jeff Miller (Florida), Rep Mark Soulder (Indiana).

# In the spirit of mis-labeling Mark Foley and Arlen Specter as Democrats, Fox News conveniently forgets to mention which party Larry Craig belongs to.

# Prose Before Hos has a list of other “Grand Old Perverts.”

# Also, apparently I wasn’t the only person to think of the phrase “Craig’s List.” Drudge and half a dozen other news outlets did so too. But I swear I only found out afterwards.

Misc

# The Wyoming state GOP seems to think it’s about 10 times more important than it really is.

# The Union Leader (a local New Hampshire paper with a conservative slant), which only gets to pretend it’s important every 4 years, is calling for Fred Thompson to participate in a freaking debate already because he’s starting to look like he thinks he’s more important than he is.

(Smart bloggers and blog readers know that Thompson isn’t aloof, he’s just not ready. Simple as that.)

# Get over objectivity when it comes to reporting on climate change, says one E&P columnist.

# “Public schools in the United States are becoming more racially segregated” according to a new report which suggests that resegregation of schools will become more prevalent due to the recent Supreme Court ruling.

# Today’s quote of the day goes to Condoleezza Rice.
