Obviously, as everyone knows by now, Gonzales has resigned, effective September 17th. I’ll have thoughts on this in a while… Is his resignation coming because of White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten’s decree that everybody who hasn’t left by Labor Day (September 3rd) has to stay until the end of Bush’s term? Will Chertoff be Bush’s nominee for replacement? And if so, who will be Bush’s nominee for Chertoff’s job?
