Update: OH, HAI DIGGERS. Won’t you subscribe to Ye Olde RSS feed?

ARG finds that an awful lot of people want impeachment:

Nearly half of the US public wants President George W. Bush to face impeachment, and even more favor that fate for Vice President Dick Cheney, according to a poll out Friday.

The survey by the American Research Group found that 45 percent support the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush, with 46 percent opposed, and a 54-40 split in favor when it comes to Cheney.

Unsurprisingly, the White House has no comment on this. I’d like to see some polling numbers on censure though.

By the way, this poll comes out just as Brave New Films releases the following video and the website impeachcheney.org:

My only complaint is that the font is a little hard to read in the video.

Update: A new Rasmussen poll shows the following results:

Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans now believe that President Bush should be impeached and removed from office. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 49% disagree while 12% are not sure.

Those figures reflect a slight increase in support for impeachment over the past year-and-a-half. In December 2005, 32% believed that President George W. Bush should be impeached and removed from office. Fifty-eight percent (58%) took the opposite view at that time.

For those who don’t know, Rasmussen is a Republican pollster (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and in election matchup polling, Republicans consistently do better in Rasmussen polls than they do in other national polls. Also, his pollsters push quite hard on questions to minimize the those who are “undecided” so this also effects results slightly.

  4. George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney belong in an insane asylum. Bush is comparable to Adolf Hitler. Bush is mentally ill. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Bush lied, and thousands of people died. Bush is psychotic. Bush is dangerous. The American people should pursue the involuntary psychiatric hospitalization of Bush and Cheney to safeguard against further atrocities. God will judge and punish Bush and Cheney.
