CNN and Larry King have apparently dumped Michael Moore’s planned “SiCKO” interview for Wednesday of this upcoming week in favor of… Paris Hilton (whom I have solemnly sworn not to write about– so sue me). An emailer writes into TV Newswer, “You’re kidding, right? CNN actually bumped Michael Moore for Paris Hilton? Wow, that’s going to give him a lot of ammo, as if people didn’t already have a reason to hate the news.”

Hilton herself (okay, probably her publicist) wrote a statement condemning the media’s obsessive coverage of her earlier in June:

… I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.”

I wonder how many times she’ll bring up Iraq or Afghanistan during Wednesday’s Larry King Live interview. Any bets?
