The Daily Background

As you’ve probably heard by now, Cindy Sheehan has “quit” the peace movement. Well, that’s the story that’s being circulated in the media at least.

I of course did what President Bush was afraid to do– that is, I with met Cindy in early 2006– and even then she was saying stuff about how glad she was to see a young face (that was me) at the event we were at, and how she wasn’t going to be around forever. We snapped this great photo, and yes, I looked kinda weird that day:

But has she really quit for good? Is she giving up? I don’t think so, given her point blank statement “I’m not giving up” to radio host Ed Shultz on Tuesday, in an interview which explains she is only taking a vacation so to speak, and wants to return to activism, perhaps doing some sort of humanitarian work to help Iraqi civillians.
