2008- McCain
John McCain will make a big Iraq speech today at the Virginia Military Institute, further tying him to the war. Read a preview of that speech here.

The Politics of Iraq
Irony of ironies, as E&P reports:

A huge anti-American protest swept two cities in Iraq today, but White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe told reporters this only underscores how much “progress” the U.S. is making in that country.

Four years since the fall of Baghad, Iraq “is now a place where people can freely gather and express their opinions, and that was something they could not do under Saddam.” Johndrove said, traveling with President Bush to Arizona.

Senate
The Senate today plans to vote on their version of the stem cell research bill that the House passed in their First 100 Hours. Smart Blogggers And Blog Readerstm will be looking at not whether it passes, but rather whether or not it passes with a veto-proof margin. More on that here.

House
The House will return on April 16th, no matter what the gentleman from Kentucky wants (that’s Mitch McConnell for those of you playing the home game).

Iraq
3,292 (yesterday).
