Still waiting on Obama’s numbers
Some of Obama’s aides have leaked to the NYT that Obama’s fundraising numbers will be over $20 million when they are announced sometime in the near future. This and more about Obama’s impressive (read: Hillary-rivaling) fundraising operation in an NYT must-read by two reporters I’ve actually never heard of.

Meanwhile, we wait for an official announcement of first quarter numbers from the Obama campaign. For three possible reasons why there has been no announcement from his camp, read this.

In related fundraising news…
Also in 1stQ fundraising (and I’ve said this before but it bears repeating), the following is very interesting and dramatic:

Okay, I just did the math.

Clinton + Edwards + Richardson + Dodd + Biden= $51M

Romney + Giuliani + McCain + Brownback + Huckabee= $49.3M

So basically, even without Obama’s $20M+ Democrats are still ahead of Republicans for the quarter overall. Remarkable. And it’s got to be due to the sheer volume of contributers on the Democratic side, while those that have been donating to the GOPers have been mostly large-dollar donors at face-to-face events.
