Libby trial
I don’t see how Libby walks away from this.

Iraq/helicopters
As everyone was counting yesterday the fifth helicopter down in Iraq over recent weeks, the NYT counted six: “The number also includes a previously unreported downing of a helicopter operated by a private security firm on Jan. 31,” the Times reports today, with no casualties resulting from that crash.

Baghdad escalation efforts begin in earnest. 3,115.

Edwards/bloggers
Still no official statement from the Edwards camp. I see very little to say until then (other than that I don’t trust that super sketchy Salon story, and that CNN ought to be ashamed of itself for running such a one-sided piece).

2008
Rudy Giuliani (or rather Rudy Giulianitm) is evidently still charging and collecting huge speaking fees, even while he runs for President.

Senator Obama sent a note out to supporters telling them his Saturday February 10th announcement will be outdoors in Springfield (”SNOW or SHINE”), and inviting them to show up. “Please do not bring any bags or signs” the invite reads. The announcement will happen presumably in front of the Old State Capitol.

Mitt ‘for equal rights before I was against them‘ Romney will still announce next week. Senator McCain’s camp is probably feeling some pressure right about now, and I continue to believe that his announcement is imminent within the next week and a half or sooner.
