| Why does the VP suddenly suck at giving interviews?

Is it just me, or has the Vice President been giving some really unpolished interviews lately? First there was that CNN interview which got a great deal of coverage, due partially to Wolf Blitzer’s surprisingly aggressive and serious questions, and now Newsweek did an interview with the Veep which yielded the following exchange:
RICHARD WOLFFE: And other comments—criticism from [Brent] Scowcroft about not knowing you anymore. People have gotten quite personal, people you worked with before. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t have some reaction.
DICK CHENEY: Well, I’m vice president and they’re not.
Seriously, that’s all the VP apparently had to say on that topic.
