Both the Colbert Report and The Late Show did segments on Nancy Pelosi blinking during the State of the Union Address. Ironically enough on The Late Show, Letterman said in the lede to his segment: “I don’t think this is the kind of thing you’ll see on any other show.” Sorry, Dave. First The Late Show:

Haha, that’s an awfully good question. They both aired at the same time (11:30PM, EST) on the same day. I think The Late Show is taped afternoons however, but I don’t know how Colbert’s show could have known what they were doing. I think it just might be a freaky coincidence (that, and there have been jokes made in the past about the frequency with which Pelosi blinks in public situations).
