Smart bloggers and blog readers know that…

Smart bloggers and blog readers know that…

… the Washington Post uses Barack Obama’s name in headlines to sell papers. Especially when the articles they’re attached to have less to do with Obama than they do with Clinton or McCain.

Smart bloggers and blog readers know that…

… the battle for House Majority Leader (Steny Hoyer vs Jack Murtha) will get more press than was earlier anticipated (thanks in large part to Nancy Pelosi).

… the outcome of the battle for House Majority Leader means much less than either the candidates, interested 3rd parties (Pelosi, for one), or media would like you to think it does.

Smart bloggers and blog readers know that…

… the difference between the headlines “Iraqi Leader Vows Shake Up Amid Violence” and “Iraqi Leader Vows Shake Up Amid Carnage” is immeasurable.

… the difference between the headlines “Insurgent Activity Rising in Afghanistan” and “Insurgent Activity Spikes in Afghanistan” is immeasurable.

(Smart bloggers and blog readers will also note the timestamps that each article was sent out at- in both cases the second headline was revised an hour or more later to better reflect the situation).

Smart bloggers and blog readers know that…

this will be a major coup for Democrats in 2007, if they can pull it off. Raw polling data doesn’t lie.

Smart bloggers and blog readers are either feeling…

… amused, bemused, or con-fused (perhaps all three) about the President’s uncanny optimism regarding John Bolton’s chances at nomination (the third time round). Smart bloggers know that Senator Lincoln Chafee has a greater chance of switching his party affiliation to “Democrat” than John Bolton has of getting nominated as US Amb. to the UN. (Smart bloggers also know that the probabilities of the both scenarios are intricately linked.)
