This is from the November 6th edition of TIME Magazine. The election is on November 7th. Caption, for those of you who have trouble reading small text: “He’s faltering on Iraq. He’s out of favor with his own party. He’s increasingly isolated. Why this election is all about George W. Bush and the world he’s created.”

The cover story, titled “It’s Lonely At the Top” predicts that the midterm elections will be “a refeerendum on an isloated President” and that it is “likely to reshape American politics.” The article also notes, to back up its prediction on the referendum matter:

In the latest Washington Post–ABC News poll, 31% of those surveyed said they will use their congressional votes to register their opposition to Bush, which was almost double the percentage who said they felt that way before the last midterm. By comparison, only 17% said they plan to use their vote to show support for Bush.
