New site feature: House & Senate predictions
by Arlen Parsa
As promised recently, I have added a new site feature at the top of the page which allows you to see my House and Senate predictions for the November 7th elections.
To view them (from any page on the website), just click the black “2006 Senate Predictions” and “2006 House Predictions” linnks at the top of each page- right underneath the logo at the top. At the moment they “New Feature” in orange and purple next to them, but they wont’ be new forever. Once you’ve expanded them, you can collapse them by clicking the same link. I intend these prediction features as a frequently-updated resource for people to check as a handy reference guide.
Anyways, it took me a while to write the Senate prediction at least (the House prediction are considerably shorter, as you may already know from having checked it) and I really hope they are of some use. The Senate predition is a list of the most competative 8 races, ranked in order with info and notes on each one. Seriously, check them out. I’ll be updating them. I may even get around to doing some sort of real House prediction at some point- other than just saying that Dems are gonna take the House with a margin of 5-15 seats and not listing specific races.
At the moment, this feature only works if you click it from the homepage and that should be okay for casual browsing, but I hope to get it working on other pages, like the permalinks of specific posts as well (if you try it from other pages right now you get an error).
