Let’s play a game for a second…

Let’s play a purely hypothetical game. Purely hypothetical, none of this is real. Let’s say you’re the Prime Minister of a country in civil war… let’s call it.. Gee, I don’t know- Iraq. And the violence in your country is getting more intense and more and more of your citizens are being killed by sectarian forces who are out of your control, while your own people and those in other countries are saying that you’re incapable of doing anything or handling the situation.

Do you…

A. Admit that you are incapable of handling the situation and ask for more international help to save your fellow Iraqis and quell the violence?

Or…

B. Stop reporting to the international community your estimate of civillians killed in a heavy-handed attempt to cover up how much worse things have gotten?

Okay, you caught me. It’s not entirely hypothetical. The Iraqi PM just ordered the Healthy Ministry to stop talking to the United Nationsabout civillian deaths. If you guessed “B.” then you were right.
