Curt Weldon raid: FBI filled boxes full of seized evidence
by Arlen Parsa

The Philadelphia raids began early this morning. Shortly before noon, FBI agents left Karen Weldon’s three-story brick house on Queen Street in Philadelphia carrying armfuls of boxes.
A government car pulled into the alley to the back door of the house and loaded boxes into it. Three agents standing in an alley - members of the FBI’s public corruption squad - declined to identify themselves.
More info on the raid can be found here. Weldon has said that the raid is politically motivated.
What I have heard is that the FBI has been investigating him for six months (Weldon didn’t know about it) and that the existence of the investigation was leaked on Friday. Once the FBI had to go public with it after it had been leaked, they were afraid evidence was going to be destroyed so they had to move in quickly and raid six locations, including the homes of a personal friend of Weldon, his daughter’s house and the business headquarters of a Russian firm which is represented by Weldon’s daughter’s lobbying firm.
