Anti-immigration Republican uses racist slur; white power propaganda to supporters
by Arlen Parsa
The following is just disgusting:
A state lawmaker who wants to reinstate a 1950s federal deportation program known as “Operation Wetback” is under fire again for sending supporters information from a white separatist group.
Republican Rep. Russell Pearce has apologized for e-mailing the article from the West Virginia-based National Alliance. But that hasn’t stopped criticism from all directions, including state GOP leaders.
Operation… wetback? Gee that isn’t a very offensive racist slur at alllll. No sirrrrr. The Republican candidate won’t apologize for using the word “wetback” either. And honestly, how do you mistake racist propaganda from the National Vanguard (the National Alliance’s publication) for legitimate info to send out to your mailing list anyways? I’m subscribed to tons of candidate’s mailing lists and I’ve never been encouraged to read material that wasn’t in a well-recognized publication (usually stuff like links to NYT articles or WaPo stuff).
