Does George Allen’s own mother think he’s racist? According to Allen’s account of a conversation he had in August with his mother about their family’s Jewish roots, his mother told him she was afraid to tell him that she was Jewish because she was afraid George wouldn’t love her anymore if he found out the truth about her heritage. According to George, his mother then actually asked him if he loved her any less, apparently afraid that learning that she was Jewish would make him upset with her.

The Senator then proceeded to proclaim, in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN

“I’m going to use my time here on earth to continue to fight for freedom and justice and to make sure that intolerance does never rear its ugly head anywhere in the world

This from the man who has openly celebrated the Confederacy, praised it without mentioning slavery, voted against holidays honoring Dr Martin Luther King, proudly displayed Confederate flags and “little old nooses” in his tax-payer-provided office, as well as associated with and supported neo-KKK groups over his years in public service.

Wow. This guy is incredible.
