Replying to right-wingers installment #6

For your entertainment, I bring you part six of our continuing series “replying to right-wingers.” Part one of the series as well as a short explanation can be found here. The following exchange was in discussing a video I posted a while ago on YouTube. You can watch the video, which was about how the largest terrorist organization ever was the KKK here. The right-winger who replied was apparently racist and didn’t think that the KKK was a terrorist organization. He began:

I think it depends on the circumstances. The fact the USA is a White nation tells me that Whites have the right to decide who stays in their country and who doesn’t, and that Whites have the right to fight for it, even if it means by force. The real terrorists are the corrupt American government, not the Ku Klux Klan.

A “White nation,” huh? I replied saying that “The United States of America is not a “White nation.” There is nothing in our Constitution, Declaration of Independence or Bill of Rights, or any other official document which says that the USA is meant to be a “White” or any other color country. Are you suggesting non-Caucasian people should be un-equal in the US?” The right-winger was quick to respond:

As for the constitution(which was made by WHITES): “promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our prosperity” - what do you think that little extract means…?

I responded, noting that “The Constitution begins “We the people of the United States.” Not “We the White people of the United States.” Are non-white human beings not people?” He said the following, which absolutely infuriated me:

The USA was founded by Whites, built by Whites, kept going by Whites. Whites PROVIDED this failing concept of “equality” so Whites have the right to take it away. The USA is the product of Whites, therefore the White American citizens in that country have the right to decide who stays and who goes.

Wow. I must have started to reply to this statement in different ways at least five times. In the end, I replied with a simple question “Guess what. I’m a mixed race American citizen. Does that make me less of a human being in your eyes?”

I haven’t heard back from the fellow since. Either I raised a good point and scared him off, or he feels it’s beneath him to respond to somebody like me whose race isn’t the same as his. Which was it?

One Response to “Replying to right-wingers installment #6”

  1. Hey Arlen,

    right on. stupid people.
I left a comment a few hours ago, thanks so much for responding. I’m further into getting my blog noticed and wanted to know what you think is a good way to get blog links. I’m looking at technorati. I started researching the feedburner you use which works on my site except I don’t know how to get the chicklet displayed. It might be because of the theme I’m using - Any Ideas?

    Thanks again,

    Stuart
