Regret? Why would anybody ever regret anything?

The State Department says it was surprised by Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah’s statement that he would not have ordered the abduction of two Israeli soldiers if he had known it would lead to a large war.
“It was a surprising statement for somebody who launched a war to say that he regretted launching that war,” department spokesman Sean McCormack said Monday.
Analysis about who really “launched” the war aside, yes, it is so hard to understand why people would have regret for participating in a war. That is a completely alien idea to this current Administration. They have waged a far worse war, killing tens of thousands of civillians, had every single reason for going to war discredited (if not hundreds), and they don’t feel any regret.
