Newsweek poll:

“Almost one year after Hurricane Katrina struck, are you generally satisfied or dissatisfied with the progress that has been made in rebuilding the city of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast?”

Only 28% are satisfied.

“All in all, do you think George W. Bush has followed through on his promise to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, or not?”

Only 32% said has. I think it’s fair to say that the people who think that the President did a heckuva job don’t live in New Orleans. A more interesting poll would be how many N.O. residents approve of the President’s handling of the disaster and recovery efforts. President Bush is now saying that rebuilding New Orleans may take 10 years.

An Associated Press/Ipsos poll recently revealed that amazingly enough 12% of Americans “strongly approve” of the way that the President handled hurricane Katrina. Compare that with 49% of Ameicans who strongly disapprove.
