Israeli PM “okays” Ceasefire; future unclear
by Arlen Parsa
Associated Press is reporting that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is okay with a ceasefire which is likely to be soon mandated by the United Nations, after a dramatic drop in his approval rating (a 28 point drop) as he has persued war with Hezbollah.
However for the moment, the Israeli occupation of parts of Lebanon will continue, after an expansion was agreed upon by the Israeli government recently. It is unknown what exactly will happen next but no immediate withdrawl action by the Israeli military is expected.
Hezbollah leadership already said they would accept a ceasefire almost two weeks ago.
