Conservative Fox News host Bill O’Reilly discussed President Bush’s first speech before the NAACP with Reverend Al Sharpton, who was sharply critical (heh, heh, heh) of the President’s speech which he argued was mostly fluff and no substance.

At one point, when Reverend Sharpton brought up the issue of enforcement– which has been a major concern of civil rights activists since the 1960s when the Supreme Court made rulings that local southern police chose to ignore and not enforce– O’Reilly simply interrupted the Reverend, saying that he had no idea what he was talking about.

  1. Of course O’Reilly had no idea what Sharpton was talking about; it wasn’t an RNC talking point!

  2. I personally am liberal on most issues, but one thing I think the Democratic Party should be wary about is affirmative action. In my opinion it is flat out racism and will only divide the country further by saying because you’re black so somehow you deserve more government-sponsored support.

I understand that there are crime and education problems are larger in the African-American community, and I think there should be programs that help communities to teach children individual responsibility, but not specifically targeted for minorities. As I said before that is flat out racism.
