The Daily Background

I’m watching YearlyKos live on C-SPAN2 (they’re taking a break right now, about to come back). Senator Barbara Boxer was on a little while ago speaking, along with a question and answer session. She recently said (rough quote):

I can tell you that i’ve been married for a very long time, and the thought that two people of the same gender love each other and care about each other, that doesn’t threaten my marriage one bit. And if anybody tells you that their marriage is threatened by this thought, then there is something wrong with their marriage.

Wise words. They got quite a stirring round of applause of course.
