The Supremes
As everybody knows by now, in a 5 to 3 vote, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) yesterday delivered a serious blow to the Bush Administration, deciding that the type of “trials” being given to Guantanamo Bay detainees were not only unconstitutional, but also in violation of international law (the Geneva convention was among the international […]

ExplanationsI announced yesterday that the site format would be changing a little bit. Or a lot-a-bit. This is due to a variety of reasons, partially the loss of my normal computer (although everything on it has been saved, thankfully), and partially also due to a changing schedule (I explained that I will be working on […]

The last couple of days have been particularly difficult on me. I will still be blogging, but I will not be blogging as much as I have been thus far. No more days with 10 or 11 posts.
This summer, I am very lucky to have an opportunity presented to me, and it is one I […]

Bush Administration continues dishonest, misleading strategy on climate change

The President said yesterday:

I think it’s — I have said consistently that global warming something is a serious problem. There is a debate over whether it’s manmade or naturally caused.
Attempting to create doubt by saying there is a real and serious debate about Global Warming. This is the only tactic Republicans have towards Global Warming.
The […]

USA Today reports:

A majority of Americans say Congress should pass a resolution that outlines a plan for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday. Half of those surveyed would like all U.S. forces out within 12 months.
The poll finds support for the ideas behind Democratic proposals that […]

Video- MSNBC: Conservative guest gets flustered, walks off

Holy crap, Crooks and Liars has a great video (multiformat, the works, as usual), of a GOP shill (I dunno who he was) getting absolutely dominated by a guy with… common sense. The issue being discussed was the media’s disclosure of the finance spying program in which the U.S. government has been using a Belgium […]

Limbaugh, Prescription Drugs, Again (this time it’s Viagra)

by Arlen Parsa

Oh-ho-ho. Rush Limbaugh, caught with prescription drugs not in his name? And those drugs was a bottle of Viagra? In somebody else’s name? Re-entering the country from a trip the Dominican Republic (where prostitution is entirely legal) and nobody knows his name? Gee, I wonder what the story was there.
Those with good memories will remember […]

Hey everybody. Your intrepid blogger here, Arlen.
I wanted to apologize for yesterday’s lack of posting, I feel bad, and I hold myself to a higher standard.
A combination of things caused this, and I won’t get into all of them. Suffice to say that it was a combination of serious computer issues, and a personal matter […]

Washington Post on “Curveball”

There were several key claims made by the Bush Administration to justify the war in Iraq. There was the uranium yellowcake Niger nuclear claim (later exposed as fraud by Joe Wilson). There was the aluminum tubes claim (also found to be baseless). There was the WMD claim (again, entirely baseless).
One of the claims made as […]

YouTube down temporarily…
