ABC’s blotter has compiled a few choice quotes of corrupt congressman William Jefferson (D-La), as recorded by the FBI. My favorite one is this:
3. “All of these damn notes we’re writing to each other as if we’re talking, as if the FBI is watching.” (said to an associate wearing an FBI hidden recorder)
Hahahahaha. Apparently he was laughing when he said that, as if the idea of the FBI watching or listening was so unrealistic. Oh, the irony. What a crook. You can read more of Jefferson’s greatest hits here. Apparently he used the term “African art” as a codeword for dough.
