I swear it was like two days ago that I was thinking to myself “gee, those Republicans sure do have an impressive unification of message.” Yeah well, maybe that was the case in the past, but it’s crumbling under the stress of extremely low poll numbers, various embarrassing failed initiatives, and the general nervousness of an election year.

ThinkProgress has noticed that the President’s official stance on making english the “national language” (as the Republican-controlled Senate just voted to do) has mysteriously changed entirely in just hours. First Snow said the President was in favor of it, and then hours later, Attorney General Gonzales said that the President has never supported any such thing. Flip. Flop. Crumble. Crumble.
