Saturday night was the night of the annual White House Press Correspondents Dinner, and Stephen Colbert (of Comedy Central fame) closed the night. Standing feet away from the President, he railed on the Prez with his sarcastic mock-conservative humor. The President reportedly wasn’t amused in the slightest, but the audience (made up mostly of press, and a few celebrity guests) laughed a great deal.

One notable exception from the rule was conservative Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia (who was in attendance) laughing very hard when Colbert made a joke about Scalia’s offensive hand gesture debackle which happened this year. Colbert also made jokes about Joe Wilson and, as Colbert called her, “Joe Wilson’s wife,” who were in attendence (guests of ABC), to which Wilson and “his wife” were seen laughing at.

When asked why they were there, Wilson replied that the couple had “no reason to hide.” His wife was apparently in a happy, joking mood. Recent oscar-winning liberal actor George Clooney was also in attendence– a guest of Newsweek. Plus, actor/hip-hop mogul Ludacris got asked a tough question from the Washington Post. Um, sort of. Below are a couple of items from the night you might want to check out.
