Bush ally calls it quits

Staunch Bush ally billionaire Silvio Berlusconi of Italy has now given up and surrendered his post as Prime Minister to liberal challenger Romano Prodi. The election was close, but Burlusconi has now given up, after it’s become more and more evident that Prodi won. Burlusconi was desperate to win re-election, so much so that he promised that Italian troops would be out of Iraq by the end of this year. Since Prodi is taking over, it may certainly be sooner than that. Full article.

  1. The word surrendered is so much more appropriate than resignation in this case. MSM keeps saying he resigned, but I’m puzzled as to how you resign from an elected position the voters have removed you from.
