Administration plan for Hurricane Season

Oh man, this is so surreal. A bipartisan Senate comittee comes out with a report that says FEMA ought to be disbanded, and the President’s reaction?

President Bush on Friday rejected the idea of killing FEMA.

“The lessons of Katrina are important,’’ Bush said. “We’ve learned a lot here at the federal level. We’re much more ready this time than we were the last time.’’

“Let’s, first of all, pray there’s no hurricanes,’’ Bush said. “That would be, like, step one.’’

What a super plan. Just grrrreat. FEMA hasn’t learned lessons. That’s becoming more and more clear. Changes haven’t been made. And the President just wants everybody to pray that we don’t have any hurricanes this year. What a solid plan. Talk about protecting American responsibly. So surreal. More here.
